Ze is vooral bekend voor haar presentatie van functies bij de ITV Breakfast programma GMTV Today. Phillips is een vaste verslaggever van het BBC One-programma Watchdog over consumentenzaken. In 1996 werd Phillips genomineerd voor de Royal Television Society Interview of the Year Award.
