Marcy Borders, 28, who worked at the Bank of America at the World Trade Center and survived its collapse, is photographed completely covered in dust. Wendy van Wanten begon haar carrière als model bij een Leuvens modellenbureau. Ze verscheen in onder meer Elle, Vogue, Burda, Flair en The American New Look. Ze heeft opdrachten afgewerkt in Parijs, Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, de Bahama’s en in Arizona (Verenigde Staten). In 1986 werd ze winnaar van de Baccara-beker als Iris in het team van Johan Verminnen met het nummer If I could only….
Ze werd vooral bekend van het programma De PinUp Club, waarin ze als Wendy Van Wanten de brievenrubriek presenteerde. In 1991 nam ze met Willy Sommers het duet Kijk eens diep in mijn ogen op, dat verscheen op haar album Verliefd.

4 maart 2010 was ze fractievoorzitter van de SP in de Tweede Kamer
en partijleider, als opvolger van Jan Marijnissen.
