Ze was leadzangeres van Katrina & the Waves, waarmee ze voor het Verenigd Koninkrijk het Eurovisiesongfestival 1997 won.
Leskanich begon in 2001 een solocarrière.
Ze toerde door Engeland en Europa en werkte in de tussentijd aan eigen nummers.
In 2005 kwam haar soloalbum Katrina Leskanich uit.

Joan Jett is an American rock singer, guitarist, songwriter, record producer and actress. She is best known for her work as the frontwoman of her band Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and for earlier founding and performing with the Runaways, which recorded and released the hit song “Cherry Bomb”. With the Blackhearts, Jett is known for her rendition of the song “I Love Rock ‘n Roll” which was number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks in 1982. Jett’s other notable songs include “Bad Reputation”, “Light of Day”, “I Hate Myself for Loving You” and her covers of “Crimson and Clover”, “Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)” and “Dirty Deeds”.

Van haar elfde tot haar negentiende volgde ze zangles bij Elisabeth Ooms. Tijdens haar middelbareschooltijd speelde ze in verschillende bandjes van haar broers en trad ze op in cafés met een pianist. Eerst nog als Mathilde Eleveld, maar later als Mathilde Santing, naar haar moeders geboortenaam.
Ze verwierf in 1981 landelijke bekendheid door haar optredens in het televisieprogramma Sonja op maandag van Sonja Barend. Haar debuut kwam het jaar daarna uit, de 10-inchplaat Mathilde Santing, met nummers van onder meer Rodgers & Hart, Haven Gillespie en Todd Rundgren.

Shirley Clamp’s carrière begon als achtergrondzangeres voor verschillende zangers en groepen, waaronder Antique tijdens hun Eurovisie Songfestival 2001- optreden om er maar een te noemen. Ze begon haar solocarrière in 2003, toen ze deelnam aan Melodifestivalen 2003 met het nummer “Mr. Memory”. Ze eindigde op de 6e plaats in haar halve finale en verloor de kans om zich te plaatsen voor de finale. Haar grote doorbraak kwam in Melodifestivalen 2004 met het nummer ” Min kärlek ” (My love) gecomponeerd door Ingela “Pling” Forsman.
