Ze werd bij het grote publiek aanvankelijk bekend als zangeres van de Dolly Dots.
Nadat de Dolly Dots in 1988 werden opgeheven, studeerde Groothuizen 3,5 jaar muziek en schreef ze liedjes voor onder andere Kinderen voor Kinderen en Carmen Gomes. In 1989 trad ze op tijdens het Worldpress Gala.

Tussen 1984 en 1989 was Fygi lid van een van Nederlands populairste meidengroepen van dat moment: Centerfold. Tijdens optredens gingen de dames gekleed in sexy lingerie. Ze scoorden hits in eigen land en in Europa, maar ook in bijvoorbeeld Japan. In Nederland scoorde Centerfold haar grootste hit in 1986 met “Dictator”. Ter gelegenheid van haar twintigjarig jubileum als soloartiest nam ze in november 2010 een bigbandalbum op.
Het album – getiteld The best is yet to come – verscheen begin 2011 en bereikte een achtentwintigste plaats op de Nederlandse albumlijst.

Weber vormde aan het begin van de jaren negentig met Jan Verhoeven het Holland Duo. Ze brachten drie albums uit, waarvan de derde bekroond werd met een
gouden plaat. Ze ging solo verder en in 1992 scoorde ze haar eerste hit
met Ik weet dat er een ander is.
Een andere hit uit die beginperiode was Schrijf me nooit geen mooie brieven meer.
