Gerritsen is vooral bekend van haar rol in de Twentse regiosoap Van Jonge Leu en Oale Groond. Ze speelt Fenna Wildspieker, dochter van Hendrik en Minie Wildspieker en zus van Alwie en Monique (Monkie) Wildspieker. Diet Gerritsen is in de eerste plaats een klassiek afgestudeerde sopraan. Ze is werkzaam als solist, dirigent, actrice en presentatrice. Als solist is ze te horen in opera, operette, oratoria, cantates en liederenprogramma’s. Ze is dirigent van het Enschedese koor Intervocaal, een multicultureel koor waar door middel van koorzang een uitwisseling tussen verschillende culturen plaatsvindt. Heitzer groeide op in het Limburgse dorp Noorbeek. Ze werd opgeleid aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium (Brussel) en later aan het Fontys Conservatorium (Tilburg), waar ze Muziektheater volgde (bij Edward Hoepelman). Heitzer was in zowel Belle en het Beest (Belle) als in Tarzan Jane te zien als de understudy van Chantal Janzen. Op 21 oktober 2007 won ze het televisieprogramma Op zoek naar Evita, waardoor ze de hoofdrol mocht vervullen in de musical Evita die op 16 december 2007 officieel in première ging in het Nieuwe Luxor Theater in Rotterdam. Op 22 november 2009 ging de musical All shook up, love me tender in première, waar ze de hoofdrol Natalie speelde. Op 21 september 2010 werd officieel bekendgemaakt dat Brigitte de alternate van Chantal Janzen werd in de speciaal voor Janzen geschreven musical Petticoat.
